First Time Moonkin Post Patch    2010-03-29 00:00:00
Sorry did you mean Starfire? Starfall is the 51 point talent that i'm referring to. Also on my tooltip, Wrath is 252 mana and Starfire is 367 mana. HOWEVER the Starfire damage (911-1072) and cast time (2.83 sec) are essentially double Wrath's exactly. Is this why you would have suggested Starfire over Wrath as less mana intensive? Or would the chance of more possible crits with more Wrath casts outpace Starfire? -Unidon, NElf Rogue of Malorne. Pre-patch I would have said use Starfall instead of Wrath since it's more mana intensive, but since the patch I'...
Tree SP?    2010-03-24 00:00:00
I'm three items from epic achievement and sitting at 1980ish spell power just from gear. Thanks to Tree of Life and talents, I'm at 2300ish in Tree form (plus 6 extra healing done to nearby people thanks to the aura). The way I see it, it's not so much the spell power that makes a Druid healer, but rather the amazing mana efficiency that comes with it. Yes, I'd love for my Rejuvenation to tick for 2k out of Tree form, but right now I'm pretty well geared (I've done Champions, Twins and Anub in ToC-10 normal) and I see other healing classes with lesser gear have much more spell power. Probably because they lack the 6 we get from the aura. Edit: 2500 spell power is overdoing it a bit. I don't see those numbers on any of the Druids I've done ToC10 with. Which pet Lynx or Dragonhawk?    2010-03-20 00:00:00
I鈥檓 afraid it鈥檚 true, at least according to Petopia. The only two low level dragonhawks have caster stats. And thus they will not have as much armor or as many hit points as non-caster stat pets. However, if you really like the looks of the pet then I say go for it. I have one on my draenei hunter and thus far, only level 20, the pet has been fine. But if you like a different pet just as much it might be a better choice. My blood elf hunter tamed one of the Springpaw Stalkers in the starting area. I like the bright red look of the cat. I named him Sunspark and...

Hit Cap in WotLK    2010-02-27 00:00:00
Will hit cap be raised? Yes and no. No: The of hit required to be capped will likely be the same. It's a mechanic that works fairly well, and I haven't seen any indication that it will change. Yes: The amount of hit rating required to get one of hit will be increased. This happens at every single level. All of our stats scale like this. So to you question, no you will not be hit capped anymore. In fact as has been pointed out you're not really going to be able to optimize much until level 80, so don't worry about it much. I think wow wiki has some stuff on formula's for scal...
Piercing the Veil On Bioware's MMOG    2010-02-11 00:00:00
Ziff Davis' newly rebranded computer-games magazines, Games for Windows, is showing off some of its new content on the 1up hub site. They've got a fantastic interview with James Ohlen, the creative director at Bioware Austin, Rich Vogel, and Gordon Walton, co-studio directors. For the first time, they reveal some new details on Bioware's upcoming Massively Multiplayer Online Game. They don't talk about the game's setting, unsurprisingly, but they do go into some depth ...

BlizzCon Sells Out in Eight Minutes    2009-10-24 00:00:00
Giving us more insight into how incredibly popular Blizzard's annual BlizzCon convention has become, news arose yesterday that this year's show sold through 20,000 tickets (at $125 a pop) in around eight minutes.Big Download ran a story in which it was revealed that the company's newly instigated auction sale method proved to be a smash hit. The Things We Do...    2009-09-25 00:00:00
It has been almost one year (probably a bit more, right) since the achievements system was introduced to the game. And with the achievements system - one very particular achievement. . Now that Brewfest is back around the corner, many of us are finally getting our chance to finish the trip and be rightfully awarded with a beautiful (Spell #60024) (that flies at 310% speed, but we want it for the beauty, of course). But how many of you stopped while doing all those achievements, and thought "Man, what I am doing is a complete absurd! I have morals, I should not be doing this for some drake!" Yea, I didn't either... But now that we are almost done with our lovely trip, I thought I would put a list of all the weird things we've done over the last year, trying to get the Violet Proto-drake. Read on, and enjoy the (long, strange) trip! Went all around the world, cheating old men and women into give you their savings. Wasted the aforementioned savings on something useless. Saved the world from a rabid dog. With two heads. No, I don't think it had fangs, and it was certainly not on fire. Got drunk and kissed a dead cockroach lover or a little boy green-haired gnome. Shared a bed picnic basket with a random person(s) on the streets of the most populated city on Azeroth. C...
